Silver Stars Mind Their Manners with Boys and Girls Club

SAN ANTONIO – Children from the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio will join Silver Stars players Ann Wauters and Edwige Lawson-Wade for a brush up on dinner etiquette at 6 p.m., Monday, June 23, at Silo Elevated Cuisine, 1133 Austin Highway.

The players will join 12 children ages 13-16 as the group learns the intricacies of formal dining etiquette from Texas School of Protocol instructor Maggie Houston during a three-course dinner of salad, entrée and dessert with bread service. The dinner will focus on teaching the children the finer points of dining, such as which piece of silverware to use, how to address your dinner host/hostess, how to order food and where to place their napkins.

Wauters and Lawson-Wade, natives of Belgium and France, respectively, will follow the dinner with a question and answer session with the participants, touching on differences in etiquette in their home countries.

The etiquette dinner is part of the WNBA Cares initiative that is committed to creating programs that improve the quality of life for all people, with special emphasis on programs that promote a healthy lifestyle and positive body image. WNBA Cares strives to support youth and family development, as well as focus on education.
