Helen Darling Reads Her Book, Hide-N-Seek Monday
When Silver Stars guard Helen Darling first began reading to her triplets, now 5 years-old, she found many of the children’s books lacking.
“I thought, ‘I can do better than that,’” she said. But Darling did more than think about writing her own children’s books, she began a series of seven books, one for each day of the week. The first in the series, Hide-N-Seek Monday, was published on Aug. 3, 2007. All seven books feature her triplets (Jalen, JaJuan and Nevaeh) but only Hide-N-Seek Monday has been released. Darling recently read the book to children at the Rolling Oaks Mall center court. The Silver Stars Reading Time Out was designed to teach children the importance of reading and to encourage them to continue reading throughout the summer. |
