Shock Drop Both Weekend Matchups to Lynx

The Tulsa Shock dropped their fifth-straight game and fell to 3-8 on the season with a pair of weekend losses to the Minnesota Lynx.

The Shock fell in Minneapolis 78-67 on Friday before seeing a similar result at the BOK Center on Saturday, losing 92-78. The Lynx improved to 4-9, with three of their wins coming against the Shock.

Tulsa took a four-point lead into halftime in the first game of the double-header, but was not able to hold on as the Lynx outscored the Shock 37-22 in the second half. In her first game this season, Lynx forward Seimone Augustus posted 27 points as the Shock were not able to find an answer for her. Kiesha Brown led the Shock with 14 points.

Tulsa sought to defend their home court on Saturday night, but was prevented by a Minnesota three-point barrage, shooting 12-19 on the night from behind the arc, including a 7-of-8 first half performance. Tulsa had four players in double-figures and shot an even 50 percent on the evening. Tulsa out-rebounded Minnesota 30-27, but were outscored from the three-point line 36-12. Everyone on the Shock roster played at least ten minutes.

“We’re not hanging our heads,” Scholanda Robinson said. “We still saw some good strides. We’re starting to play together and play hard for each other. Some things just aren’t going our way right now.”

Tulsa will be back in action when they travel to Georgia to take on the Atlanta Dream on Wednesday.
