Shock Acquire Nicole Ohlde and First Round Pick

A season of transactions continued for the Shock today as they acquired Nicole Ohlde and a 2011 first round pick from the Phoenix Mercury in exchange for veteran Kara Braxton.

Braxton, one of the two remaining players from last year’s Detroit team, averaged 9.3 points and 4.6 rebounds for the Shock in 16.8 minutes a game. She started 16 of the Shock’s 22 games this season.

Nicole Ohlde appeared in 20 games this season, averaging 3.0 points and 1.9 rebounds in 11.1 minutes off the bench for the Mercury. In her six-year career in the WNBA, the Kansas State alumni is averaging 8.8 points, 4.7 rebounds in 23.4 minutes a game for Minnesota and Phoenix.
