Kara Braxton tossed in 14 points, along with Shock teammate Swin Cash contributing 7 to help close out the USA Basketball Women’s National Team 2007 College Tour with a 97-62 victory over host Stanford University to remain a perfect 8-0 against top collegiate squads.
The National Team upped its overall record on the year to an unblemished 19-0 slate, which includes the 2007 Tour of Italy (4-0), a pair of exhibition victories over Australia and the gold medal and an Olympic berth at the 2007 FIBA Americas Championship (5-0). Kara Braxton's 21 points helped the US National Team secure an 88-64 come-from-behind victory over the University of Southern California on Tuesday. Swin Cash added six points and two rebounds in the win. Kara Braxton's game-high 18 points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots helped the US Women's National Team to a 75-24 win over Texas A&M. Swin Cash added 11 points, three rebounds and two assists in the victory. Swin Cash scored a team-high 14 points and handed out five assists while Kara Braxton added 12 points and seven rebounds in the USA's 82-48 win over Arizona State University. Detroit's Kara Braxton scored four points, grabbed six rebounds and blocked two shots while Katie Feenstra chipped in with two points, two rebounds and two blocks and Swin Cash grabbed two boards and handed out two assists. USA Basketball defeated earned an 83-72 win over the University of Tennessee on Sunday afternoon. Kara Braxton led all scorers off the bench with six points while Swin Cash added four points and two boards and Katie Feenstra scored two points and grabbed three rebounds. In USAB’s win over the University of Connecticut on Friday evening, Feenstra scored 10 points and grabbed three boards while Cash scored four points and Braxton added two points and four rebounds in the 90-74 win. In the team’s tour opening win over the University of Maryland, Feenstra scored eight points, while Braxton added seven and Cash chipped in with five. The US Women's Select Team came up short in its efforts to bring home the gold at the FIBA World League Championship over the weekend falling to CSKA Moscow 75-65. Katie Smith scored seven points, grabbed five rebounds and handed out three assists and Katie Feenstra added three points for the silver medalists.
