Tulsa Shock Sell Out Opening Night - Standing Room Only Tickets Now Available

TULSA, Okla. (May 12, 2010) – The Tulsa Shock’s opening night game against the Minnesota Lynx on May 15 is sold out. However, with the support of John Bolton, General Manager of the BOK Center, and the arena staff, 200 standing-room only tickets have been made available for the opener.

“This is an incredible accomplishment,” Bolton said. “Not only do we have a sold-out opening game, but to have to add an additional 200 standing room only tickets is a great indication of the success this team will have in Tulsa.”

Standing-room tickets are available for $10 and can be purchased by calling: 918-599-WNBA (9622), emailing tickets@tulsashock.net or going to the BOK box office.

“We are excited to see the community embrace the Tulsa Shock on opening night,” said Shock President Steve Swetoha. “The players, coaches and entire Shock organization appreciate the support and commitment the community has shown us – it’s humbling.”

In order to create an intimate environment for fans in attendance, tickets for home games will only be sold for the lower bowl of the arena for the entire season. The capacity of the lower arena is 7,479. However, an additional 200 to 400 overflow seats were made available for opening night, raising the capacity of the lower bowl to well above 7,500. Currently, only standing-room tickets are available for May 15.
