I send greetings from across the Atlantic. I am currently playing in Lugo, Spain for a team called YaYa Maria Porta XI. Spain has become my home away from home. This is my second time playing over here, and I really enjoy the experience. The country is beautiful, my teammates are great, and my Spanish is getting a little better!

We just got back from a 10 hour bus trip to Valencia, where Elaine Powell is playing for team called Ros Casares. Unfortunately, we lost to E.P.’s team, which gives her bragging rights until we meet again! Shock fans, I am proud to report that Elaine is playing great basketball over here, she hit a big 3 against us in the 4th quarter that really hurt. It is a little weird to be playing against my American teammate, but it’s great to see a familiar face on the court - even if she is wearing the wrong uniform.

Things are going good over here, although we are off to a tough start (2-3). I think one of the most frustrating things for me is that we only play one game a week. On one hand it is good, because I have extra time to work on my game - which is something I embrace. On the other hand, as athletes, we LOVE the competition. It’s hard to wait a whole week for the next game!!
