Hey Shock fans,

Sorry it’s been so long since we spoke, but I just needed some good old family time after the season. As you can probably imagine, the season did not end the way we wanted. We did everything we could, but Connecticut was a bit better in our series. I did watch the rest of the playoff, and I would like to congratulate the Sacramento Monarchs on winning the WNBA Championship. The way they played this year was simply awesome. But don’t worry we’ll be back next year.

This season was such a learning experience for me. Moving back to Michigan. Learning to be a working mom. All that is involved with playing professional basketball. Just getting back on the court after a year. It has been such a great experience that I can’t put it into words. I have learned more about myself and this game in the last six months, than at any other point in my life.

One of the biggest things I learned is that you have to continually get better to succeed in this league. So I have decided to travel to Poland to play during the winter. It’s a great opportunity to grow and learn more about myself. I know that I need to get in better shape, both physically and mentally. The mental aspect of the game is so often overlooked, and missing that year of play has definitely affected my game. Just being on the court in actual games will help tremendously.

I want to thank each and every one of you for your support: both of me and the entire team. As I’ve said before, you are such a big part of everything we do. It is your energy in The Palace that has willed us to some big wins. Personally, you’ve help make my transition to the Detroit area much easier. There is no question that Detroit has the best fans in the world. I am already excited to come back for next season. Get ready because the “Bad Girls” will be back and better than ever.

Thanks again for a great season and I can’t wait to see you next year.

GO PISTONS!!

-Kara
