DetroitShock.com's Ryan Pretzer takes you on photographic tour of Phoenix
Photos from Phoenix: Day One, Part 3
by Ryan Pretzer

Smile, kids, this place is awesome!

Palm trees on one side, mountains on the other. You know what you don’t see? Clouds. I asked my cabbie how often it rains in Phoenix. “Last month, it rained like two or three times in a week,” he said. Really, for the whole month? “No, just one week.” Then he gives me the obligatory, “It’s hot, but it’s a dry heat – no humidity” pitch. Hey, you don’t have to sell me. I’m already buying.

Shortly after taking this photo, a woman driving a BMW stopped to let me cross the sidewalk, even though she had the light. How nice.

If this isn’t in front of the Dodge division at Chrysler Headquarters in Auburn Hills, it should be. I told you, they love the mountain animals here.

That’s all for Monday. I’m off to Shock practice, followed immediately by a face plant into Photo 9. It’s been a longer day than usual – by three hours, at least. Got to stay fresh to send more photos tomorrow…
