UMMC Ekaterinburg ended EuroLeague Qualifying Round competition with a 96-76 win over Halcon Avenida (4-6) on January 23. Deanna Nolan was not in uniform, but Phoenix’s Penny Taylor scored 18 points, grabbed six rebounds and handed out six assists in the win. UMMC Ekaterinburg finished three games ahead of second place Bourges Basket (6-4) in Group B.

Sixteen of the original 24 EuroLeague teams advance to the Eighth-Final Play-Offs which begin on February 5. UMMC Ekaterinburg will face off against ESB Lille Metropole (France) which needed a layup in the final seconds of its final Qualifying Round game against Fenerbahce along with a Phard Napoli win over TTT Riga to advance to the playoffs. The best two-out-of-three Eighth Finals are played in a 1-1-1 format where the higher seed hosts games one and three.
