Pierson

Plenette Pierson’s BC Moscow club improved to 5-1 in Eurocup Women play keeping pace with Berette-Famila Schio (5-1) after an 84-71 win over Extrugasa. Pierson didn’t play, but she is still averaging 14.6 points and 10.2 rebounds in Eurocup play this season.

That concludes the Eurocup’s Preliminary Round as 32 teams advanced to the Sixteenth Finals which begins on January 9, 2008. BC Moscow opens its Sixteenth-Finals play on January 10 against Baschet ICIM who advanced out of Group B with a 3-3 record in the Preliminary Round. Game two of the series is on January 17. The team that has the highest scoring differential in the series will advance to the Eighth-Finals on January 31.

Johnson

Shannon Johnson’s Emana Reyer Venezia squad finished Preliminary Round competition in the Eurocup with an unblemished 6-0 mark after an 80-63 win over EXMA BBTL Letzebuerg (0-6). Johnson also didn’t play in her team’s win, but finished the Preliminary Round averaging 17.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 2.8 steals per game.

Umana Reyer Venezia opens Sixteenth-Finals play against KV Imperial AEL who finished the Preliminary Round in Group D with a 2-4 record. Their series begins on January 10 and finishes on January 17.
