Shannon Johnson’s Umana Venezia squad is still undefeated in Italian League play this winter after an 89-59 win over Italmoka Pozzuoli (3-6). Johnson scored 14 points, grabbed three rebounds and handed out three assists in the win which ran Umana Venezia’s record to 9-0.

Johnson is averaging 16.1 points (ninth in the league), 4.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists (seventh) on the year. Next up for Umana Venezia is a December 16 match up with Lavezzini Parma (6-2).

Nolan

Pierson

Deanna Nolan and UMMC Ekaterinburg (7-0) remain undefeated in Russian Superleague A competition after a 97-76 win over Plenette Pierson’s BC Moscow squad. Nolan scored 15 points on seven of eight shooting, grabbed four rebounds and handed out eight assists in the victory. Pierson did not play in the game.

Next up for UMMC is a December 16 battle of the unbeatens as they face CSKA Moscow (6-0) while BC Moscow (6-2) squares off against Dynamo (Kursk) (5-3) on December 17.

Tyresa Smith and Dynamo-Energiya (Novosibirsk) improved to 5-4 on the year after a 66-54 come-from-behind victory over Shelen-ETK (Krasnoyarsk) (0-8). Smith scored 12 points and grabbed six rebounds in the win as Dynamo-Energiya outscored Shelen-ETK 35-17 in the second and third quarters to erase a first-quarter deficit.
