Elizur Holon trailed by 13 at the time of Latta’s injury and also had to contend with the loss of former New York Liberty forward DeTrina White who played just 15 minutes due to an ankle injury. Former Shock training camp player Dionnah Jackson enjoyed her best game of the season for Maccabi Ashdod posting a 17-point, 12-rebound double-double.
With the win, Walker and company improved to 4-5 and is now tied for fourth in the Israeli League. The loss dropped Latta and Elizur Holon to 4-5 as well. Raanana Hertzliya, led by the Seattle Storm’s Tanisha Wright, is running away from the rest of the crowd with an unblemished 9-0 record.
Wright is leading the Israeli League in scoring averaging 24.0 points per game with Walker second at 22.9 and Latta sixth at 20.9. Walker’s 12.7 rebounds per game pace the league, and Wright (6.2) and Latta (4.9) are first and third respectively in the league in assists per game.
Elizor Holon hosts Electra Ramat Hasharon (6-1) on December 10 while Maccabi Ashdod travels to Bnei Yehuda (3-6) that same day.
