In conjunction with WNBA Tip-Off 2008 and McDonald’s “National Sampling Day”, Shock players and coaches went to work at the McDonald’s Flint and Oak Park locations. Detroit Shock Players were at Detroit area McDonald’s helping to give away free full-sized samples of McDonald’s Southern Style Chicken Biscuits and Sandwiches with the purchase of any medium or large drink.

Katie Smith and Deanna Nolan were at the 3212 Clio Rd. McDonald's in Flint from 7:30-8:30 a.m. on Thursday, while Cheryl Ford and Plenette Pierson were at the 26550 Greenfield at 10 ½ Mile Road McDonald's in Oak Park at the same time.

McDonald’s anticipated giving away 8 million Southern Style Chicken Biscuits and Sandwiches during the nationwide sampling event on May 15 at its 14,000 U.S. restaurants from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Detroit Shock, set to kickoff their 2008 WNBA season on May 17, partnered with McDonald’s to make sure Detroit fans got a sample of these unique and loved southern products
