Ford suffered the injury at Indiana on July 20 to the same knee that was diagnosed with a femoral bone bruise after Detroit’s June 15 win over the Connecticut Sun. That initial injury caused Ford to miss six of the teams next seven games. Overall, Detroit is 5-3 this season in games that Ford has missed due to injury.
Ford is leading the WNBA in rebounding this season with 11.2 per game and her 13.0 points per game scoring average makes her one of two players (Seattle’s Lauren Jackson) in the WNBA averaging a double-double on the season.
