The Detroit Shock were honored at the 2nd annual Detroit Sports Fans Choice Awards on Thursday, January 13, at The Detroit Marriott Renaissance in Downtown Detroit. The awards benefited the CATCH Charity for Children and honored Detroit's Greatest Professional Athletes.

Detroit's Swin Cash and Barbara Farris were honored with a humanitarian award for their outstanding work in the community.

Cash and teammate Cheryl Ford were also nominated for Detroit's MVP and Detroit's Rising Star, respectively. Cash lost out to the Pistons Ben Wallace for MVP and Ford - last year's winner of the Rising Star - handed the reigns over to Tayshaun Prince of the Pistons and Roy Williams of the Lions.

There will be a 30-minute special on Comcast Local airing at 8 p.m. on Monday, January 24, 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 27, 10 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2 p.m. on Sunday January 30 and 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2.
