Chandi Jones Named Detroit Shock Rookie of the Year By Detroit Sports Broadcasters Association

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - November 4 - The Detroit Shock announced today that guard Chandi Jones has been named 2004 Detroit Shock Rookie of the Year by the Detroit Sports Broadcasters Association.
Jones, who averaged 3.5 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 12.8 minutes, appeared in 31 of Detroit’s 34 regular season games. She finished the season with highs of 14 points (at Indiana, 7/16), six assists (at Indiana, 7/16), three steals (at Washington, 6/11) and two blocks (vs. Charlotte, 9/19/04).
Jones, a University of Houston graduate and three-time Conference USA Player of the Year, gathered 79 percent of the votes, beating out teammates Iciss Tillis (14 percent) and Isabel Sanchez (7 percent).
