Detroit’s Swin Cash Among Finalists for Black Entertainment Television’s Female Athlete of the Year

Auburn Hills, MI - The Detroit Shock’s Swin Cash is among five finalists nominated for BET’s Female Athlete of the Year Award. The winner will be revealed on Tuesday, June 26 beginning at 8 p.m. ET at BET Awards ’07. The show is being held at the historic Shrine Auditorium located in Los Angeles, California. Cable television’s top-rated awards show will be replayed on June 29 and July 1, 4, 6, 8 and 14 from 8-11 p.m.

Also vying for Female Athlete of the Year honors are Gail Devers (track and field), Serena Williams (tennis), Tamika Catchings (Indiana Fever) and Lisa Leslie (Los Angeles Sparks). Other awards to be handed out during the broadcast include Male Athlete of the Year, Best Actor and Actress, and Best Male and Female R&B Singer.
