Shock Head Coach Bill Laimbeer and star forwards Swin Cash and Cheryl Ford joined a cast of thousands to check out the Auto Show one day ahead of schedule. Decked out in elegant black tie apparel, the Shock representatives talked with former Los Angeles Lakers star and Lansing, Michigan native Earvin "Magic" Johnson, mayor of Detroit Kwame Kilpatrick, Governor of Michigan Jennifer Granholm and her husband Dan Mulhern. They also sat down for a radio interview with Dick Purtan from WOMC.
