The Eurocup Women Eighth-Finals got underway on Thursday, January 31 and Plenette Pierson’s BC Moscow squad bolted out of the gates with an 81-58 win over Panionios BC. BC Moscow outscored Panionios 21-7 in the second quarter to break open the game. Pierson led all scorers with 25 points and added five rebounds, five assists and four steals in the win.

Game 2 in BC Moscow’s Eighth-Finals Series with Panionios on Thursday, February 7.

Shannon Johnson’s Game 1 win over Chevakata didn’t come quite as easily, as Umana Venezia overcame a 15-point second-half deficit to pick up the 72-67 win. Johnson scored a team-high 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Game 2 in the series is scheduled for Wednesday, February 6.
