Detroit Shock Overseas Update
Polish League
Kara Braxton recently signed with Polish squad Wisla Can-Pack – the same team she played for during much of the 2006-07 season. Her arrival paid immediate dividends for Wisla Can-Pack (14-2) as they defeated LKS Siemens AGD Lodz (7-8), 82-54. Wisla Can Pack is currently in second place in the Polish League and plays CCC Polkowice (8-6) on Saturday, February 2.
Deanna Nolan’s UMMC Ekaterinburg (11-2) teammates topped Slavyanka (1-12) 101-58 on Wednesday, January 30 to move within a game of second place Spartak, Moscow Region (12-1). UMMC next faces off against Shelen-ETK (0-13) on Saturday, February 2.

Braxton also starred in a January 28 All-Star game pitting Wisla Can Pack against a team of league stars. Braxton’s squad won 83-79, and she was named the game’s MVP. Last season in Poland, Braxton averaged 15.5 points and 7.3 rebounds.
