BC Moscow and Plenette Pierson split their two games over the weekend, eeking out a 77-76 win over Slavyanka and falling to Deanna Nolan’s UMMC Ekaterinburg squad 90-55. Pierson paced BC Moscow in the team’s win over Slavyanka with 20 points and five boards, and scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds in the loss to UMMC.

UMMC (10-2) takes on Slavyanka (1-11) on Wednesday, January 30 while BC Moscow (10-4) squares off against front-running CSKA Moscow (13-0) on Saturday, February 2.

Shannon Johnson and Umana Venezia (13-3) fell back into a tie for second in the Italian League over the weekend with a 75-51 loss to Famila Wuber Schio (13-3). Johnson was limited to just four points and five rebounds in the loss.

Next up for Venezia is a February 3 meeting with Bacno di Sicilia Ribera (4-12).
