POSTGAME QUOTES
Shock Head Coach Bill Laimbeer

On the game:
“There are some things we have to clean up still, no question about that. We gave up too many second chance points. We only had 15 turnovers, which is under our normal average. I thought that we still had to take care of business a little bit more.”

On being aggressive:
“It was one of those games where we were very aggressive and attacking the rim at all times throughout the game, that is our strength. I thought we did a very fine job, especially Cheryl (Ford) early on in the game, was really aggressive in going to the basket.”

On defense:
“That’s going to be one of our strengths, we play very good defense. We talk about scoring but our defense is outstanding. If we take care of the rebounds it will make it even better.”

Shock Forward Cheryl Ford

On her role on the team:
“I’m just trying to play my part. If the scoring comes, the scoring comes. I’m just here to play defense and rebound.”

On winning at home:
“I think every game is important. If we will our home games, we’ll be the champion of the WNBA, so that’s what we’re focusing on.”

Shock Forward Swin Cash

On getting contributions from every player:
“Its important. I think the most dangerous teams are the teams where you can’t key in on one person and I think we have that element to our team this year. I think our frontcourt did an excellent job tonight, coming up big, making shots, and being consistent down the stretch. Deanna (Nolan) and Katie (Smith) stepped up and hit some big shots for us.”

On the bench players:
“Our bench was excellent and we have a very talented bench and sometimes our practices get very competitive because we’re getting at each other and I think we’re only as good as our bench is and I think anyone that came in today off the bench gave us a spark.”

Lynx Head Coach Suzie McConnell-Serio

On the game:
"We got contributions from our bench. We got into foul trouble early and had to go deep into our bench. We were able to stay with them going into half time down two. We really never got into the flow of the game with all the foul trouble and stoppages of play. That's not really playing to our strengths. It was a physical game."

On Seimone Augustus:
"She did well. Coming out in the second half she wasn't herself with the ankle. She's going to be a great player for us all season long. She's impressive. There's no doubt she's an impact player for us. She makes such a difference on the floor"

Lynx Guard Seimone Augustus

On playing back-to-back games:
"It's difficult. You have to get up at four o'clock in the morning but it's my job. This is what we have to do. This is a mental toughness that you need to have. You have to be ready at anytime and having back-to-back games is something you have to endure throughout a whole season.”

On playing against Deanna Nolan:
"She's a very tough defender. She's a very tough player period. Early on, I don't think I was as aggressive as I should. She made every shot difficult. She did what she was supposed to do. She did her job."
