    Donaphin's Season Statistics
    Shock Head Coach Bill Laimbeer

    On the game:
"While it was not a great game for the Detroit Shock, I thought it was a great day for WNBA Basketball. You couldn't find a more competitve game with spectacular plays and the crowd was really into it. It doesn't get any better than that. Unfortunately, we ended up on the short end of the stick. I was proud of the effort especially without our leader and best player, Swin Cash. We give them all the credit in the world. They hung in there tough."

    On the second half:
"As soon as we came out of the second half we weren't as focused as we should have been. We came out with turnovers to begin the second half. We are not seasoned enough. I am very proud of them being shorthanded without Swin (Cash)."

    Shock Guard Merlakia Jones

    On the game:
"We relinquished the lead. We had an opportunity to close this team out. Turnovers and free-throws is what killed us at the end."

On the team's attitude at halftime:
"When you have a great shooting team like New York you can never relax. For some reason we relaxed. Now we know what it takes."

    Liberty Head Coach Pat Coyle

    On the second half:
"There was no quit in that locker room (at halftime). Our players came out and played really well in the second half on both ends of the floor."

    On Bethany Donaphin's buzzer beater:
"I couldn't be more happy for that kid to make that shot. Was that by design? No, but it went in and we finally beat them (Detroit) with a buzzer beater. I couldn't be happier for her. She did a great job for us. I was glad she decided to shoot it and not pass it."

    More on the second half:
"We have been the underdogs the entire season. People have counted us out. People understand after this game about the heart, desire and will of this team. It was an incredible gut check. There was no quit in that locker room."

    On Crystal Robinson:
"She is a veteran that understands the playoffs. She got us going in a big way with those two threes. She has done that since I have been here. She did a good job of getting hot and we did a good job of finding her."

    On second half adjustments:
"They pounded us down low so we went to a zone. We did some things they haven't seen before."

    Liberty Center Bethany Donaphin

    On the buzzer beater:
"I was excited to hit that shot, but that is not what I was thinking coming out of the timeout."

    On the second half:
"It says a lot about our team. We have a lot of heart and desire. Everyone has been doubting us all season and that just makes it a lot sweeter."
