In-Game Host
After moving to Oklahoma from Illinois, Mary Moore is back in Tulsa to be the in-game host for the Tulsa Shock. Raised in Monmouth, IL where she started her basketball career by playing in the North American Youth Basketball (NAYB) and the American Youth Basketball Tour (AYBT). Moore continued her sports career in High School in Bartlesville, OK. Moore ventured to Denver, New York City, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and most recently Austin, Texas before returning to Tulsa a little over a year ago to explore a local radio broadcasting opportunity.
Moore comes from a radio family as her dad was the play-by-play announcer for local basketball games in Bartlesville, Owasso and southern Kansas. From a very early age, Moore had the opportunity to be the color commentator for local basketball games which has equipped her with a wealth of experience to excel as the in-game host for the Shock.
Moore spent the offseason emceeing for the University of Tulsa Men’s Basketball team (Go Cane’!) as well as teaching fitness and nutrition assemblies (along with VOLT) to elementary and middle schoolers around the area on behalf of the Shock and WNBA Fit.
Moore just played in the Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless’ Home Run for the Homeless softball game and has worked with the Quota Club, Total Source for Hearing Loss and Access (TSHA), the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and the Make a Wish Foundation. She actively seeks more volunteer opportunities and believes in being active in her community and helping in any way she can.
