Auburn Hills – Detroit scored the first five points of the game and led wire-to-wire as they moved a game over .500 for the first time since July 6. It took the Shock under 10 minutes to build a double-figure lead and the Mystics were never able to cut it down to single digits.

Detroit held Washington to 21.4 percent shooting in the first half as they missed all 11 of their three-pointers. Nikki McCray missed all 10 of her first-half field goal attempts while the Shock were connecting on 45.2 percent of theirs. Keri Chaconas led the Mystics in scoring for the game off the bench with 10 points. Carla Porter’s 19 points paced the Shock who scored 23 points off of 15 Washington turnovers.
