Auburn Hills – Vicky Bullet and Nikki McCray combined to score 41 of Washington’s 76 points as the Mystics pushed their record over .500. Washington took a nine-point lead into the half, and led by 11, 43-32 with 1:28 gone in the second half. Detroit began to eat into the Mystics lead, and tied the game at 57 with 8:17 remaining, however, they were never able to take the lead.
The Mystics connected on 54.9 percent of their field goal attempts compared to 41.7 percent for Detroit. The Shock were able to keep things close by scoring 28 points off of 24 Washington turnovers.
