Aurburn Hills– The Shock opened the game with a 16-6 burst out of the gate only to watch Seattle storm back with a 23-12 run to take their first and only lead of the game at 29-28. The two teams combined for an ice cold 3-24 shooting to begin the second half as Detroit led 40-38 at the 15-minute mark. Then Detroit went on a 16-5 run to give them control of the game as they notched their seventh home win in 10 games.

The Detroit Shock had four players scoring in double figures to overcome the 23-point night of the Storm’s Lauren Jackson. Jackson outscored every Shock player while adding seven rebounds and five blocked shots. Sue Bird added 14 points. The Shock once again got balanced scoring. The backcourt combination of Deanna Nolan and Elaine Powell threw down 12 and 16 points respectively, with backup guard Sheila Lambert contributing 11 points. Swin Cash contributed 15 points and four helpers. Powell led the way defensively with five steals.
