Detroit Shock 75, Phoenix Mercury 71

Auburn Hills – Jae Kingi 25 points off the bench to help the Shock end its five-game losing streak in a 75-71 win over Phoenix. The Mercury jumped out to an early 15 point lead with just over nine minutes gone in the first period, but Detroit ended the period on a 24-9 run to tie the score heading into the locker room.

The second half saw five ties and seven lead changes, but the Shock built a 10-point lead with 10:19 to play. Phoenix countered with an 18-4 run to take a four-point lead with 3:31 to go. Detroit scored 12 of the final 16 points to pick up its fourth win of the season.

Dominique Canty posted a 12-point, 11-rebound double-double for Detroit while Jennifer Gillom’s 25 points led three Mercury players in double figures.
