Auburn Hills – Detroit fell three games below .500 for this first time all season despite a 19-point, nine-rebound effort from Wendy Palmer. The Miracle took its biggest lead of the first half, 27-21, with 5:29 remaining before halftime, but the Shock closed the period on a 13-1 run. Orlando tied the game at 36 early in the second half, but the Shock regained the lead and pushed it to seven points at 52-45 with 9:41 to go in regulation.
The Miracle countered with an 8-0 run of its own, finally taking the lead for good on an Elaine Powell lay-up with 5:34 to go. Wendy Palmer led all scorers with 19 points, while Adrienne Johnson led the Miracle with 17 points and Taj McWilliams added an 11-point, 11-rebound double-double.
