Auburn Hills - Detroit’s defense limited New York to 38.1 percent shooting on the night (24-of-63) as the Shock picked up their second win of the season in a 66-63 decision over the Liberty. Detroit led by 15, 39-25 early in the second half, but New York rolled off 14 consecutive points over a four minute span to get back into the game. With 35.7 seconds to go, Vickie Johnson’s lay-up cut the Shock lead to two, 64-62. The teams traded single free throws on the next three trips down the floor giving Detroit a 66-63 lead, and the Shock’s defense held as New York failed to score on its final possession. Robinson scored a game-high 17 points for New York while Swin Cash recorded her second career double-double with 16 points and 10 boards.
