Auburn Hills – After New York opened up a 15-5 lead in the first half, Detroit went on a 14-3 run for a two-point advantage with 9:11 to go in the first. It was the last time the Shock would lead as the Liberty took a 10-point lead into the locker room. Detroit cut the lead to six on four different occasions midway through the second half, but never could get any closer.
The Shock struggled from the field again hitting just 38.9 percent of their shots while the Liberty connected on 57.4 percent of theirs. Tari Phillips’ 20 points led all scorers, while Astou Ndiaye-Diatta’s 19 points led four Shock players in double figures.
