Detroit Shock 63, Minnesota Lynx 71

Auburn Hills – Detroit’s three-game winning streak came to an end as Katie Smith scored a career-high 40 points on 13 of 19 shooting from the field and six of nine from three-point range. Smith outscored the Shock in the first half all by herself, 21-20, and outscored Detroit’s starters, who recorded 39 points, on the night as well.

The Lynx led 38-20 at the break, but the Shock opened the stanza on a 15-5 run to pull to within eight with 13:27 to play. Less than four minutes later, Detroit trailed by just four, but they were never able to pull any closer.

Carla Boys led the Shock with 14 points off the bench while hitting four of five three pointers and Astou Ndiaye-Diatta grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds.
