Auburn Hills - It looked early on as if the Shock were on their way to their first win of the year, as a 14-0 run staked Detroit to a 21-12 lead over the Indiana Fever with 9:12 gone in the first. The Shock took a three-point advantage into halftime, but the game remained close for much of the second half. With 8:18 to go, the Fever clung to a two-point lead, but an 11-0 run effectively ended the game for Detroit. Wendy Palmer led four Shock players in double-figure scoring with 16 points. Astou Ndiaye-Diatta added 14, while Swin Cash and Deanna Nolan added 14 and 13 respectively. Tamika Catchings led all scorers with 27 points and Nikki McCray added 12 points and seven rebounds for the Fever.
