Cash narrowly missed the third triple-double in league history and Cheryl Ford and Ruth Riley scored 16 points apiece as the Shock rolled to an 82-63 victory over the Houston Comets.
Detroit had lost a season-high four straight games entering a meeting with Houston, which had won the first nine meetings between the teams.
The Shock finally overcame the Comets behind Cash, who collected 19 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists and six steals. She made 6-of-16 shots from the floor and 7-of-10 free throws.
Chandi Jones scored 12 points and Deanna Nolan added 10 and seven assists for Detroit, which had all five starters in double figures and led by as many as 21.
Michelle Snow collected 13 points and 14 rebounds and Tiffani Johnson scored 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting as Houston shot just 40 percent (24-of-60) from the floor, including 0-of-11 from 3-point range.
