Salt Lake City – The Shock bench outscored Utah’s reserves 25-8 and Detroit made 51.0 percent of its shots on the night as they topped the Starzz 73-69. Detroit took a nine-point lead into the break, and extended it to 12 with 4:12 gone in the second half. Utah was able to tie the score on four different occasions later in the period, but was never able to take the lead. Adrienne Goodson tied the game up for the final time with 2:10 remaining at 69-69, but the Shock scored the final four points on four Edwina Brown free throws for the win.

Utah was able to keep the game close by forcing Detroit into 26 turnovers on the night. Adrienne Goodson and Natalie Williams combined to score 43 points and Williams added 11 boards for the Starzz. Astou Ndiaye-Diatta led the Shock with 18 points and Oksana Zakauluzhnaya added 15 off the bench.
