New York – Rebecca Lobo’s 14-point, 10-rebound double-double helped push the Liberty a game and a half ahead of the Shock in the race for the playoffs in the WNBA’s Eastern Conference. New York used a 35-8 run over the final 11:20 in the first half to blow a close game wide open.

The Liberty shot 56.7 percent from the field in the half and held the Shock to 25.0 percent shooting. Detroit also committed 12 turnovers in the first 20 minutes that led to 19 New York points. The Liberty led by 20 or more points for much of the second half. Korie Hlede ledd the Shock with 14 points, eight rebounds and six assists on the night while New York’s Sophia Witherspoon led all scorers with 17.
