New York – The New York Liberty exacted some revenge for their loss to the Shock five nights earlier as Detroit’s six-game winning streak came to an end. Neither team shot well as both failed to hit 40 percent of their shots, but the Liberty benefited by outscoring Detroit 18-10 at the free throw line for the three-point win. The Shock led by as many as eight in the second half and still held a five-point lead with 5:23 to go, but New York finished the game on an 11-3 run.
Cindy Brown recorded another double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds, and Teresa Weatherspoon led the Lib in scoring (12), rebounding (7) and assists (4).
