Detroit Shock 80, Minnesota Lynx 85
Minnesota - The Shock almost made it two in a row as Minnesota needed overtime to take an 85-80 win over Detroit. Two free throws by Dominique Canty with 51 seconds to go in regulation gave the Shock a 75-73 lead, but Svetlana Abrosimova’s driving lay-up with 38 seconds tied the game and ended the scoring in the second half. Detroit had a chance to win it in regulation, but Canty missed a lay-up and Ayana Walker's put-back was off the mark. In overtime, Astou Ndiaye-Diatta’s jumper 28 seconds in, gave the Shock a 77-75 lead, but Detroit managed only three more points and Katie Smith scored seven of the Lynx’ 10 points in the bonus period to eek out the win. The Shock shot over fifty percent (30-of-57, .526) for just the third time all season, and were led by Swin Cash’s 16 points. Smith scored a game-high 28 points for Minnesota.
