Detroit Shock 80, Los Angeles Sparks 90

Los Angeles - Detroit tied a dubious record in a 10-point loss to the Los Angeles Sparks by dropping their seventh consecutive game to start the season. The Shock led early in the contest, but an 11-1 Sparks run midway through the first gave Los Angeles a 12-point lead that they would never relinquish. Detroit trailed by 12 at the break, never getting closer than 10 after halftime. Lisa Leslie and DeLisha Milton each scored 18 points for the Sparks who connected on 56.7 percent of their shots (34-of-60) on the evening. Deanna Nolan led Detroit with 18 points while Swin Cash added 15 and Ayana Walker poured in a career-high 14.
