Sheryl Swoopes logged the first-ever triple-double in WNBA history and helped lead Houston to a 39-point win over the Shock. The Comets held Detroit to just 26.2 percent shooting on the evening and the Shock committed 21 turnovers that Houston turned into 25 points.

Jennifer Azzi was the only Shock player to score in double figures, and Cynthia Cooper led all scorers with 20 points. Swoopes finished the evening with 14 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists, and Tina Thompson posted a double-double of her own with 13 points and 10 boards.
