Auburn Hills-- The Detroit Shock showed their ability to bounce back. Elaine Powell and Cheryl Ford each scored 12 points as the Shock pulled away for a 69-55 victory over the Charlotte Sting. Coming off their first loss of the season, the Shock led by four points at the half before opening things up over the final 20 minutes. They led by as many as 19 points in the second half. Chandi Jones drilled a 3-pointer and made two free throws in a 6-0 spurt early in the second half, giving the Shock a 51-39 cushion. Jones and Ayana Walker added 10 points apiece for the Shock, who shot 55 percent (23-of-42) in winning for the fifth time in six games.

Sheri Sam and Teana Miller each scored eight points for Charlotte, which lost for the sixth time in seven games.
