Auburn Hills – Andrea Stinson and Rhonda Mapp combined to score 42 of Charlotte’s 78 points dropping the Shock back under .500 for the year. Detroit never led as the Sting picked up their first win under new head coach T.R. Dunn. Charlotte led by 12 at the break, and by 11 with 10:59 remaining.

Detroit closed the gap to three, 61-58, with 4:25 to go, but the Sting scored seven of the next nine points to push the game out of reach. Elena Tornikidou’s 16 points led the Shock, who were held to 39.4 percent shooting on the night.
