How did the Shock players spend their Memorial Day?

May 29, 2007

The Shock had no practice Friday or Saturday to start their Memorial Day weekend - so how did the Shock players spend their extra free time?

Guard Katie Smith visited her old stomping grounds of Minneapolis to catch up with her brother and family as well as old teammates.

Smith: It was my brother’s birthday on the 24th, my sister in law, nephew and family were there and I have a lot of friends still on the Lynx. It’s basically my second home. So I flew out there, and hung out for my brother’s birthday. The next day I got to hang out with my old teammates and good friends. About 12 of us went to the Lynx game on Friday night and tried to cheer them on to a victory. Saturday was a lazy day, just visited some spots that I liked and then I headed home. It was a really good break, Minneapolis is one of my favorite cities.

Swin Cash, on the other hand, stayed at home and went with the classic “Dinner and a Movie” plan.

Cash: “I relaxed with my better half and watched the Da Vinci Code. We had some pasta with shrimp and asparagus.”
