Darxia Morris Invited To Shock Training Camp
“We might be a little bit short handed at the point guard position,” General Manager and Head Coach Nolan Richardson said. “She had a great camp and we are happy that we were able to identify her as the best player in the camp.”
Scheduled to graduate this year with a degree in Sociology, Morris averaged 12.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.8 steals while starting in all 33 games for the Bruins.
“When I got the call, I was jumping up and down in my hotel room,” Morris said. “I’m so happy.”
Morris had a scare during Saturday morning's tryout as she started cramping due to dehydration. However, she was able to work through it but now realizes that she needs to improve heading into training camp.
“I’m going to get in shape like coach said and be stronger on the court," Morris said. "Just hoping that I can make the team, just work my butt off.”
Fifteen players will be invited to camp from which nine will be selected for the final roster. Shock training camp is set to begin on May 15.
