Detroit Shock and Genisys Credit Union "My Personal Heroes" Program Rules and Regulations
How to Enter: Contest begins on May 1, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. and ends September 1, 2009 at 11:59 a.m. (“Promotional Period”). There are only two (2) ways to enter.
Entries: Entrants who are 13 years of age or older as of May 1, 2009 can complete an on-line entry form at DetroitShock.com to automatically enter their nominee to be selected. Entries mechanically reproduced or made in any fashion of the contest are void. All entrants can send name(s), address, phone number and name of school or organization to "Genisys Credit Union My Personal Heroes Program,” Detroit Shock – Community Relations, The Palace of Auburn Hills, 6 Championship Dr., Auburn Hills, MI, 48326. Applicants under the age of 13 need to have a legal guardian register for them or send in the mail-in application. One entry per person/email address/household.
Indemnification: Entries must be received no later than one week before the Shock game to be honored at 11:59 a.m. All entries become the property of the Detroit Shock and will not be acknowledged or returned. Incomplete entries are void. By entering, all entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the judge's decisions. By entering, entrant agrees to follow the Official Rules and hold harmless and indemnify the Detroit Shock, the Women’s National Basketball Association and its Member Teams, WNBA Properties, Inc. and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, governors, employees and agents and Genisys Credit Union against any and all liability, damages or causes of action (however named or described), with respect to or arising out of either (i) entrant’s participation; or (ii) the receipt or use of the prizes awarded in the promotion. False or deceptive entries or acts will render the entrant ineligible.
Prize: One (1) winner per date stated below will receive two (2) lower-level tickets to a Detroit Shock game. Person that is said to be Genisys Credit Union My Personal Hero will be honored either pre-game, during a time out or at halftime for a select amount of time. During honoring, honoree will be at half court and have photographs taken and be presented with a medal. Prize Value is $100. Winner will be notified via telephone or e-mail. In the event the winner cannot be contacted or declines the prize, another winner will be randomly chosen.
Winner: One (1) winner will be selected for each of four (4) Shock home games to be honored as a Genisys Credit Union My Personal Hero on dates to be determined. from all eligible entries received by Palace Sports & Entertainment whose decisions regarding all aspects of the contest shall be final and binding. Except where prohibited, in consideration for being awarded the prize, winner hereby agrees and consents, without further authorization, compensation or remuneration of any kind, to the use of winner’s name and likeness in any and all advertising, promotions and other publicity conducted by the Detroit Shock, the Women’s National Basketball Association and its Member Teams, WNBA Properties, Inc. and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, governors, employees and agents and Genisys Credit Union. In the event that the winner cannot be contacted or declines the prize, another winner will be randomly selected from eligible entries. The winning prize is non-transferable to any other person, including relatives or friends. Winner is solely responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes and any expenses associated with the prize, unless otherwise indicated. No substitution, cash equivalent or transfer of prize permitted except at the team's option for a prize of comparable or greater value.
Eligibility: The contest is open only to residents of the state of Michigan. Online entrants must be 13 years of age or older as of May 1, 2009. Applicants under the age of 13 need to have a legal guardian register for them or send in the mail-in application. Employees and immediate families (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) of the Detroit Shock, Detroit Pistons, the National Basketball Association and its Member Teams, NBA Properties, Inc., and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, governors, employees, and agents and employees of Genisys Credit Union are not eligible. Entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of the judging organization regarding all aspects of the contest, whose decisions shall be final.
Odds: Winner will be chosen by an employee of The Palace based upon the sincerity of the person’s outreach into the community, and the uniqueness of what makes said person “My Personal Hero”.
