Tulsa Shock Players in the Community

The Tulsa Shock players and coaches volunteered throughout the Tulsa community before and during the 2011 WNBA Season. All the Shock players began the season by building a community garden at Wright Elementary School as part of the WNBA Cares initiative. The garden will be incorprated into the science curriculum showcasing the value of locally grown fruits and vegetables and the necessary techniques to grow them. Shock players also traveled to Joplin, Missouri to help with disaster relief, pariticipated in a "Get Fit" Clinic at a local senior center and helped prepare Riverside Park for the fall with Up With Trees. | More Videos | More Photos

Shock Assembly Program Presented by American Fidelity Assurance and Williams

The Tulsa Shock have partnered with American Fidelity Timeout For Fitness and Williams to help students across the state “Get Fit” with an assembly program. The 45-minute assembly will be a fun, entertaining and interactive presentation featuring high-flying Shock mascot, Volt and professional basketball clinicians from the Shock Basketball Academy that will showcase simple and fun basketball exercises that can help individuals stay fit. Tulsa Shock Office Staff

The Tulsa Shock Office Staff participate in a monthly service project year round. In addition to a group project, many members of the Shock staff are involved in the community at a variety of levels. President Steve Swetoha is an OCCJ Board Member, Director of Ticket Sales Danita Johnson resides on the Greenwood Cultural Center board and Director of Sponsorship Marlene Livaudais is involved with YWCA Tulsa. | More Videos | More Photos
