Rebecca Responds to Mail
See what the Liberty star had to say in her e-mail answers!
Dear Rebecca,
I think the WNBA ROCKS!!!!!!!! You autographed a photo for my friend, it was
an immense pleasure to shake your hand. I know you meet thousands of people,
just meeting you made my summer last year. No, I am not a gooey-eyed teenager. I am
an almost 39-year-old chef, who loves to watch women's b-ball. To have a player
as positive and energetic as yourself is a gift to the game. Take care of the knee, can't wait to see you play.

Johnna,
Here's hoping you washed your hand after shaking mine and before getting back
to your culinary art! I'm glad you are not gooey-eyed ... no matter how old
you are. -Rebecca

Becky,
Real quick lesson... You are. You're. You are. You're. Thanks for ur note! -Rebecca
Rebecca, you definitely have a way with words. Anyway my questions
are will you be covering the NCAA's again on ESPN and are you going to shoot
more when you play pro ball this year? Thanks for your
time.
John Nesko

John,
That's a great question and a bit of a sore subject for me these days. I will
NOT be doing the NCAA tournament on ESPN this year. ESPN wanted me back and I
wanted to do the tournament. However, our good friends at the NCAA are
enforcing a rule this year which does not allow professional athletes to do
television during the tournament. I have no idea why this rule is being
enforced or why it exists for that matter. Like most things the NCAA does,
this rule does not make sense to any sane, rational person. Needless to say,
I have NO LOVE for the NCAA right now!
Am I gonna shoot more??? I GUARANTEE (money back) that I will take more shots
this year than last! -
Rebecca
Rebecca, what was your biggest setback while playing basketball?

I really love you and when we do projects in school then I always
do them on you. when I grow up I want to play basketball and play on the same
team as you. I hope that it comes true. And I hope that your knee gets better.

Kristi,
I am flattered. However, I think it might be time to start handing in a new
project... your teachers might catch on soon... -

Hey Becca, did you know that Chamique Holdsclaw and Steve Francis

Hey Rebecca: I just want you to know that I wish you the best of
luck in the upcoming season! My question is: I watched the allstar slam dunk
contest and
I really like Vince Carter. He is the bomb. Do you know if he's single?
Sherian

Sherian,
That's a good question for Chamique! - Rebecca

Hi, my name is Burneeka and I was worrying if you can tell me some
information on how to join the WNBA?
Burneeka
Philadelphia, PA
Burneeka,
Just like the WNBA to tell you to "JOIN IN" and then not tell you how! The
best way to join the WNBA is to trace your hand on a piece of paper and mail
it to Val Ackerman! (Either that, or practice as hard as you can on the
court, get good grades, and hope to be drafted). - Rebecca
