After losing in the Finals to Detroit in 2006, Monarchs guard Nicole Powell returned this season with renewed hunger. That hunger has manifested itself in the form of Powell’s improvement in just about every statistical category. The four-year WNBA veteran has been a leader and a key contributor for Sacramento throughout the regular season. Powell has emerged as a go-to player, scoring from both the inside and the outside. And having been to the Finals in each of her first two seasons with the Monarchs, Powell knows what it a thing or two about playing on the biggest stage.
