For veterans Ticha Penicheiro and Yolanda Griffith, it was the culmination of many years of working together to get it just right. Yet the Monarchs face no easy task in attempting to repeat. In fact, they did not even win their conference crown in the regular season. The Detroit Shock are as hungry as ever after winning the 2003 WNBA title and then underachieving the past two seasons.
